I am Maryse, your professor.

I am an FLE qualified professor (French as a foreign language) for many years. I have taught in France and in the Centres of Culture in Helsinki and Tokyo. In 1994, I decided to create my own programme and to work in my own home in Semur-en-Auxois.
I welcome adults of all nationalities.

Why choose my method?

Because, I have found that to learn a new language, it is important to study the rules of grammar. It is also a good idea to immerse yourself in a culture to discover new ways of thinking and living.
By choosing my little school, you will benefit from personalised instruction, adapted to your rhythm and your objectives. Without forgetting, acquiring good PRONUNCIATION. You will progress rapidly and efficiently, while discovering the riches of Burgundy.

  • 7 Breakfasts and 5 Lunches each week and a French Specialty/Day are included in the tariff.
  • You can use the Kitchen for dinners and at the weekends.

To guarantee the best progression, I have put in place some registration conditions:

  • Required level. You should have acquired a base in French (about 60 hours of lessons).
  • An intensive rhythm. You will have  4hours and 30 minutes of uninterrupted lessons each day, every day! This rhythm allows for rapid progress, but necessitates a lot of motivation.
  • Total Immersion. You will live in my home, which will help your daily French practice and therefore accelerate your learning.
  • Early Registration: Reserve your stay at least one month in advance, particularly if you wish to come between April and October.

Testimonials

Patrick Schwartzkopf, 35 ans, Allemagne

I did a one-week individual French course with Maryse. Very intensive, made really good progress. Maryse is dedicated, passionate about teaching and very experienced. Pronunciation exercises were great. Very inspiring French conversations and lots of grammar very well explained. I recommend this class to everyone. Highly effective and pleasant.

Charlotte et Calvin Dorion, 48 ans, Canada

My week has been superb, in a gorgeous centuries MA ex-convent, surrounded by trees and flowering terraces.
I certainly had a wonderful teacher in Maryse. As a teacher myself, I was impressed by her structured approach, which included coaching in pronunciation. And Maryse’s meals were wonderful.

Chad Goerner, 38 ans, Princeton, USA First Vice President – UBS Institutional Consulting

A small class with class in a privileged location far from the noise and fury of the world, with exceptional natural surroundings and a unique medieval town
